Sevendust is actively working on their next album, according to frontman Lajon Witherspoon. In a recent Loudwire Nights interview, he confirmed that the band is currently sorting through 20+ song ideas, with plans to refine them further. While band members are sharing ideas remotely, Witherspoon emphasized that their best work happens when they’re together in a room, hinting at upcoming in-person writing sessions.
Balancing their creative process with a packed tour schedule, Sevendust will continue developing new material while on the road. After their upcoming Disturbed tour, they’ll have just a brief break before joining the Creed cruise, but Witherspoon says they’ll still be listening to tracks and working on ideas during soundchecks and bus rides.
The album will follow 2023’s Truth Killer, which was produced by Michael “Elvis” Baskette (Alter Bridge, Slash) and released via Napalm Records. The band recently celebrated the 21st anniversary of their 2003 album Seasons with a U.S. tour, revisiting fan favorites like Enemy and Face to Face.
With no release date yet, Sevendust fans can expect more updates as the band continues writing and refining their next record.
