Stereophonics fans can officially mark their calendars—new music is on the way! Frontman Kelly Jones has confirmed that the band’s 13th studio album is set for a March 2025 release, with the first single dropping in January.
New Music and Exciting Plans
During an interview with Johnny Vaughan on Radio X, Jones revealed:
“Yeah, our new single’s out in January and then the album’s in March, so there you go!”
The announcement follows Jones’ earlier tease about the band’s excitement for their 2025 plans, including a summer packed with live shows:
“Playing all the hits… in huge outdoor gatherings through the summer of 2025 makes me so excited… oh wait… we already did [record the album]!”
2025 Live Shows: ‘Stadium Anthems’ Tour & Royal Sandringham Estate Gig
Stereophonics will embark on their Stadium Anthems UK and Ireland tour in June and July, concluding with a massive hometown show at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium. Additionally, they’ll headline the Royal Sandringham Estate in Norfolk on August 16, supported by Blossoms and Jake Bugg.
Kelly Jones’ Solo Reflections
In 2024, Jones stepped into the solo spotlight with his album Inevitable Incredible. In an interview with NME, he reflected on the creative journey and the challenges of stepping outside Stereophonics’ legacy:
“A lot of music I was creating was getting lost… many great songs I presented under Stereophonics got overlooked by the anthems and radio favourites.”
He shared his desire to make albums as varied as films, explaining:
“I want to make music like filmmakers make films—different subjects and tones… I saw Ethan Hawke say, ‘No one gives a f*** about poetry until their dad dies, and then they need a verse to tell them what it all means.’ I think this album is a little like that.”
